About the role
- Shape and evolve BRYTER’s technical strategy and system architecture
- Lead a team of engineers: set direction, align priorities, foster trust and accountability
- Support personal and professional growth via mentoring, coaching, and career path development
- Drive system-wide technical investments balancing short-term delivery with long-term maintainability and performance
- Act as architectural leader ensuring coherence across services, frontend, and backend
- Collaborate across teams to align efforts, unblock dependencies, and bring domain context into engineering discussions
- Influence and advocate for long-term technical decisions and challenge the status quo when needed
- Stay hands-on and contribute code where appropriate to remain connected to day-to-day engineering realities
Requirements
- 3+ years leading a team of engineers
- Strong experience building and maintaining modern web applications across frontend and backend
- Proven track record leading engineering teams, managing performance, and growing individuals through mentoring and coaching
- Proven experience designing and evolving system architecture for complex, distributed applications at scale
- Ability to identify and champion key technical investments balancing immediate product needs with long-term scalability and quality
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and contributing to a culture of learning, trust, and technical excellence
- Pragmatic decision-making and avoiding over-engineering
- Familiarity with cloud services, particularly AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker (bonus)
- Experience with TypeScript/Vue/React, Kotlin/Spring, PostgreSQL (ideally)
- Experience in startup environments (bonus)
