About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Under the general supervision of the Application System Manager, provide analysis and programming to assist in the selection, implementation and ongoing support of application software.
Orient and train new employees; schedule assigned employees; provide guidance and counsel to employees.
Meet with personnel from user departments Information Services staff and vendors to define and resolve application system problems.
Analyze problems and determine most efficient and economical programming solution.
Develop specifications for software applications; design, code, test, debug, document and install software programs.
Test and update software products with new releases.
Coordinate the testing and installation of new software packages and modifications from vendors.
Modify, maintain and add value to existing software via maintenance releases, utilities from vendors, and creative use of available Information Services resources.
Direct preparation of manuals and training materials and training of user personnel in the use of systems and modifications to systems.
Manage complex Information Services multidisciplinary projects including project planning, task assignment and project implementation.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field required.
A combination of computer-related technical training and successively increasing information systems management responsibility may substitute for a degree.
Epic Beaker Certification , Epic Orders Certification and/or any Epic Certification is preferred.
Lab experience: Clinically or with lab instruments, interfaces or other IS Lab support.
Data Innovations interface experience.
Understanding of Epic Nephrology, Wound and/or Outpatient Rehab.
Three years experience in programming and systems design.
