About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Under the general supervision of the Application System Manager, provide analysis and programming to assist in the selection, implementation and ongoing support of application software.
  • Orient and train new employees; schedule assigned employees; provide guidance and counsel to employees.
  • Meet with personnel from user departments Information Services staff and vendors to define and resolve application system problems.
  • Analyze problems and determine most efficient and economical programming solution.
  • Develop specifications for software applications; design, code, test, debug, document and install software programs.
  • Test and update software products with new releases.
  • Coordinate the testing and installation of new software packages and modifications from vendors.
  • Modify, maintain and add value to existing software via maintenance releases, utilities from vendors, and creative use of available Information Services resources.
  • Direct preparation of manuals and training materials and training of user personnel in the use of systems and modifications to systems.
  • Manage complex Information Services multidisciplinary projects including project planning, task assignment and project implementation.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field required.
  • A combination of computer-related technical training and successively increasing information systems management responsibility may substitute for a degree.
  • Epic Beaker Certification , Epic Orders Certification and/or any Epic Certification is preferred.
  • Lab experience: Clinically or with lab instruments, interfaces or other IS Lab support.
  • Data Innovations interface experience.
  • Understanding of Epic Nephrology, Wound and/or Outpatient Rehab.
  • Three years experience in programming and systems design.
