About the role
- Lead core transactional accounting functions, including: Accounts Payable Surplus Lines Tax Filing Billing Accounts Receivable
- Manage assigned month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate completion
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows, systems, and controls
- Ensure operational excellence through effective internal controls and process consistency
- Collaborate with leadership to deliver insights on key operational metrics
- Support accounting systems maintenance and reporting needs
- Develop and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering accountability and collaboration
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on transactional operations and process leadership
- Experience in a shared services or high-volume environment is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of GAAP and operational accounting best practices
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in electronic accounting systems and innovative technologies to improve efficiency (Bots/AI, other)
- Power BI development experience preferred
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive process improvements.
