Human Resource Generalist
Brown & Brown InsuranceHR Generalist supporting employee lifecycle at Orchid Insurance in Tampa, FL. Involves recruitment, compliance, employee relations, and project management within HR functions.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Source, recruit, screen, and schedule interviews for top talent
- Coordinate with hiring managers on job descriptions, talent pipelines, and college partnerships
- Post job openings, utilize Predictive Index (PI) for candidate selection, and develop a strong talent pipeline through networking initiatives and employer branding
- Partner with employees and leaders on employee relations issues, providing coaching and guidance
- Administer and coordinate PI assessments, conduct stay interviews and annual performance reviews and implement improvements for operational effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with employment-related laws and regulations
- Process paperwork, maintain accurate personnel records, and update organizational charts
- Assist with benefits administration and payroll processing (as backup)
- Coordinate with staffing agencies and manage our internship program
- Support the creation and maintenance of company policies, as needed
- Implement HR projects and initiatives as directed by Head of Team Resources, including change management, engagement activities, and coaching leaders
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners
- Assist the HR team in coordinating company events and meetings.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role
- SHRM-CP designation preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a get-it-done attitude
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task, self-direct, and prioritize tasks
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
