About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently serve as a key liaison for both large
- Manage and grow an existing book of business by developing strategic plans for client retention and new business opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, conducting regular visits, addressing service issues, and leading benefits presentations during Open Enrollment and other meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and carriers to support long-term retention and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with client decision-makers and technical contacts to understand needs, develop service plans, and resolve escalated issues, including claims and enrollment concerns.
- Lead the renewal process for health and life coverage, recommending tailored insurance solutions, cost-saving strategies, and plan modeling.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and support new business efforts through proposal development and presentations.
- Coordinate internal resources and introduce relevant products from other business units to meet client needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the sales management system and ensure compliance with insurance operations and regulatory requirements.
- Educate clients on benefits legislation, compliance, and emerging products.
- Support agency goals by promoting high performance standards, participating in leadership meetings, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Stay current on industry trends, product developments, and regulatory changes through ongoing training and professional development.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A valid New Jersey Producer license in Life, Health, and Accident (as well as any other required states and/or authorities to service the assigned book of business) must be maintained in good standing or be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- A college degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification (preferred)
- High school diploma
- 5+ years of professional experience within the insurance industry’s account management, sales or a related field.
- Proficient knowledge of employee benefit insurance coverages and contracts.
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher.
- Able to create, edit, and merge letters, spreadsheets, labels, etc.
- Proficient knowledge of office equipment (including but not limited to copy machines, printers, faxes, binding machines, etc).
