About the role

  • Oversee timely, accurate month‑end and quarter‑end close processes in compliance with corporate and regulatory deadlines
  • Manage consolidation of financial data across divisions to support reliable internal and external reporting
  • Provide technical accounting guidance, including revenue recognition (ASC 606) and other complex accounting matters; research compliance issues as needed
  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries; coordinate and prepare financial statements
  • Perform and review monthly CSA packages in accordance with the Brown & Brown internal control framework
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, identify variances or trends, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, audit standards, and public‑company requirements
  • Oversee transactional processes including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash controls, and bad‑debt mitigation in partnership with client and accounting teams
  • Evaluate accounting processes and leverage automation to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and support operational scalability
  • Partner with finance and operational leadership to deliver reporting, analytics, and insights supporting growth and performance; support acquisition integrations as needed
  • Lead and contribute to special projects, manage multiple priorities, and meet evolving business needs and deadlines
  • Build and develop high‑performing teams through recruiting, training, coaching, professional development, and ongoing education; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • CPA
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in accounting or financial leadership role
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and developing a team
  • Experience in delivering projects and initiatives that deliver measurable financial results with a focus on driving organic growth
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with leadership in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft suite; focus on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Master’s degree in related field (preferred)
  • Insurance industry experience (preferred)
