About the role
- Support projects locally, regionally, and nationally
- Interact directly with Portfolio Design Managers, Portfolio Discipline Leaders, and Local Leaders to determine project staffing and availability
- Perform engineering design work with the building mechanical group
- Prepare reports, construction plans, specifications, calculations, equipment selection, and cost estimates for various projects
- Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspection and testing
- Assist with the preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables
- Assist with studies, permitting, and alternative analysis
- Support the preparation and review of technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents and deliverables
- Coordinate and communicate with others on projects to ensure proper and timely execution of the work
- Participate in BC’s QA/QC process
- Field activities such as site investigations, data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation
- Help review work of external partners
Requirements
- B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Interest in HVAC and plumbing piping design
- Experience using or familiarity with CAD software (Revit and AutoCad)
- Good written and verbal communication skills essential
- Willing to occasionally travel to project sites (less than 10% expected)
