About the role

  • Support projects locally, regionally, and nationally
  • Interact directly with Portfolio Design Managers, Portfolio Discipline Leaders, and Local Leaders to determine project staffing and availability
  • Perform engineering design work with the building mechanical group
  • Prepare reports, construction plans, specifications, calculations, equipment selection, and cost estimates for various projects
  • Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspection and testing
  • Assist with the preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables
  • Assist with studies, permitting, and alternative analysis
  • Support the preparation and review of technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents and deliverables
  • Coordinate and communicate with others on projects to ensure proper and timely execution of the work
  • Participate in BC’s QA/QC process
  • Field activities such as site investigations, data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation
  • Help review work of external partners

Requirements

  • B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Interest in HVAC and plumbing piping design
  • Experience using or familiarity with CAD software (Revit and AutoCad)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills essential
  • Willing to occasionally travel to project sites (less than 10% expected)
