About the role
- Serve as Technical Planning Lead on a variety of studies and planning projects.
- Be a direct line for the Project or Program Manager into all aspects of technical analysis.
- Guide technical strategy across diverse analyses to ensure conformity of assumptions and support of overall project goals.
- Understand and communicate technical analyses to non-technical project and client staff using various engagement tools (presentations, briefing materials, graphics, technical reports and memos).
- Lead utility planning projects as a Project Manager.
- Serve as PM for individual studies and analyses to create efficient and streamlined teams by being both the PM and the Technical Planning Lead.
- Support alternatives analysis and conveyance design projects as a technical lead.
- Develop design criteria and guide client decision making.
- Engage deeply with the key project success criteria to inform the technical approach of alternatives development.
- Drive H/H modeling and collection system planning success.
- Engage in scope and fee development, set standards for delivery and QA/QC, guide project-based modeling plans, mentor modeling and planning staff in delivery and client engagement.
- Prepare reports, planning documents, preliminary designs, and cost estimates for various multi-disciplinary planning and design projects.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Specialist-level (20+ years of experience) knowledge in modeling and planning.
- Specialist-level technical understanding of combined sewer, sanitary sewer, and stormwater collection system function and regulatory frameworks.
- Specialist-level experience in hydrologic and hydraulic model development, calibration, and analysis in platforms such as PCSWMM, InfoSWMM, Mike+.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Proposal writing experience.
