Analyst

• Independently review, research, assess and update valuations for alternative assets
• Produce custom business-segment and/or firm analytics for managerial reporting on a regular or ad-hoc basis
• Partner with investment teams to create new alternative assets, to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Validate alternative asset statements provided by fund companies to ensure accuracy.
• Engage custodians, funds, internal portfolio management, client service and operational teams to resolve valuation issues, breaks, delays and other related matters.
• Escalate fair value pricing matters where valuations might be incorrect, and utilize judgement to determine resolution against pricing policies and guidelines.
• Present factual support and documentation in order to resolve pricing discrepancies with necessary stakeholders.
• Manage queue of ticket requests within internal task management system and work with team members to align task flow and independently resolve tickets as needed.
• Leverage financial and market knowledge to evaluate various pricing data points to determine appropriate action, execute updates to systems and provide data to support the recommended course of action.
• Partner with client teams when on-boarding large relationships with complex alternative asset holdings and recommend proper courses of action.
• Manage the internal and external transfer of these investments, as well as execution of subscription and redemption activities
• Proactively identifying and escalating control gaps and proposing and instituting best practices and tools to be more efficient and effective.
• Lead and contribute to firm-wide and departmental value-add projects and present project findings to leadership and other stakeholders as needed.

Alternative Asset Analyst

Solutions Engineer

• Build, maintain, and improve integrations between Canoe and enterprise platforms, including Addepar, Snowflake, reporting tools, portfolio systems, accounting systems, data warehouses, and other vendor applications.
• Support document ingestion, classification, extraction, validation, exception management, and downstream delivery of alternative investment data.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues involving capital calls, distributions, capital account statements, NAVs, commitments, contributions, withdrawals, valuations, K-1s, fund metadata, investor entities, and related alternative investment documents.
• Support, maintain, and enhance Canoe-related data workflows across alternative investments, investment operations, portfolio management, client reporting, performance analytics, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, SQL queries, reconciliation logic, data validation scripts, exception reports, and operational monitoring routines.
• Partner with investment operations, reporting, portfolio management, accounting, compliance, and technology teams to translate business requirements into data requirements, mappings, validation rules, and integration specifications.
• Support secure and controlled data movement from Canoe into Snowflake and other enterprise data platforms.
• Contribute to data modeling, data transformation, and consumption-layer design for alternative investment data used in reporting, analytics, portfolio review, and client service workflows.
• Use APIs, file-based integrations, ETL/ELT tools, automation scripts, and platform configuration to improve the reliability and scalability of Canoe-related workflows.
• Monitor production data feeds, identify exceptions, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate remediation, and escalate issues to vendors or internal teams as appropriate.

Data Integration Engineer

Backend Engineer

• Lead solution architecture for API, microservice, middleware, event-driven, and data integration models across enterprise systems.
• Design and govern integration patterns for Canoe, Snowflake, Addepar, portfolio management platforms, client advisory tools, reporting platforms, accounting and finance systems, and external vendor ecosystems.
• Drive design, planning, execution, and delivery of enhancements for portfolio management, client platforms, financial operations, advisory tools, and enterprise data workflows.
• Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, engineers, data teams, security, infrastructure, and vendors to translate business strategy into practical technology delivery roadmaps.
• Establish technical standards for API design, service decomposition, data contracts, authentication, authorization, monitoring, logging, resiliency, and lifecycle management.

• Serve as a senior technical and analytical resource for Brown Advisory’s Addepar data ecosystem.
• Support, enhance, and scale Addepar workflows across portfolio management, client reporting, investment operations, performance analytics, and advisory processes.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data issues involving accounts, entities, ownership structures, portfolios, holdings, transactions, securities, classifications, attributes, benchmarks, performance, and reporting outputs.
• Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines between Addepar and enterprise platforms, including Snowflake, reporting tools, client platforms, portfolio systems, accounting systems, Canoe, and other vendor applications.
• Use Addepar APIs, extracts, imports, and platform tools to enable data integration, automation, enrichment, validation, and downstream consumption.
