About the role

  • Monitor, report, and advocate regulatory strategies in relation to energy market rules and regulations in the Western US
  • Collaborate and support regional team members and other departments to advance the company’s business interests in wholesale and retail power markets
  • Promote Brookfield Renewable’s interests regarding the evolution of energy market rules and regulations
  • Advise Brookfield Renewable’s management on the impact of regulatory developments on the business
  • Maintain relationships with other energy policy professionals within the NGO community, in government and ISOs.

Requirements

  • 10 years of public policy and regulatory experience
  • 5 years of WECC market and regulatory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, Political Science or related field
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with advocacy and western regional governance
  • Relationship builder with extensive network with other energy regulatory, policy and environmental stakeholders in the Western United States
  • Willingness to travel, estimated between 30% and 50% depending on location.
