Events

• Acting as overall lead for an agreed selection of our Championship events.
• Coordination of accommodation and catering arrangements, and suppliers for all Championship events.
• Assisting with recruitment, retention and remuneration of volunteers.
• Support with administration of finance process.
• Working as part of the Events and Competitions team to review and develop the overall event offering (competitive and non-competitive) across the sport to make rowing more relevant, connected and accessible.
• Working closely with the Communications and Marketing team to jointly develop and agree on event marketing and communications plans.

Events Delivery Coordinator

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Act as a Company Director of British Rowing
• Monitor delivery against the agreed strategy and review progress against agreed goals and objectives
• Set the financial agenda and financial plan with the Board, CEO and CFO
• Oversee performance, financial expenditure, risk, and resource allocation in line with the strategic plan
• Ensure that British Rowing maintains a sound financial and resource base
• Build strong working relationships with the Chair, fellow Directors, and the CFO
• Bring an independent viewpoint, exercising sound judgement on matters of finance, risk, cybersecurity, performance, resources, and conduct
• Participate in an annual Board evaluation and your own individual evaluation
• Undertake relevant training to support your role
• Build effective relationships with auditors, insurers, external partners and stakeholders as required
• Attend British Rowing events and meetings, representing the organisation and hosting partners, sponsors, and stakeholders.

Independent Non-Executive Director – Finance

Human Resources

• Lead and evolve British Rowing’s people and culture strategy in line with organisational objectives and values.
• Partner with the CEO and Executive Team to shape a positive, inclusive and high-performing organisational culture.
• Act as a role model for values-led leadership, psychological safety and respectful behaviours.
• Support culture change initiatives, employee engagement programmes and organisational development activity.
• Lead employee relations casework including performance, attendance, disciplinary, grievance and wellbeing matters.
• Provide expert, pragmatic and timely HR advice to staff and managers across the organisation.
• Ensure HR policies, procedures and practices are up-to-date, legally compliant and consistently applied.
• Oversee recruitment and selection processes, ensuring fair, inclusive and effective hiring practices.

Director

• Provide strategic leadership for safeguarding, integrity, welfare and culture at British Rowing.
• Lead the development and delivery of robust safeguarding and integrity frameworks.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Executive Team and Board.
• Hold strategic responsibility for safeguarding across British Rowing.
• Oversee the management of safeguarding concerns and complex cases.
• Ensure compliance with national safeguarding standards.
• Lead training and education programmes to build safeguarding capability.
