About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and execute proactive executive talent sourcing strategies by mapping target companies, talent pools, and diverse leadership communities
  • Identify, engage, and cultivate long-term relationships with passive executive talent through personalized outreach, networking, and thought-leadership engagement
  • Build and maintain robust candidate pipelines for current searches and succession planning
  • Conduct deep market research and competitive intelligence on talent availability, compensation benchmarks, and competitor organizational structures
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring leaders as a consultative advisor, calibrating strategy and presenting qualified, diverse candidate slates
  • Develop future candidate pipelines and talent maps, determining the optimal job advertising mix
  • Aggregate market and industry data to support compensation negotiations and strategic recruiting methods
  • Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies, educational institutions, professional associations, and industry networks
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, industry standards, equal employment opportunity, diversity, and labor relations requirements
  • Serve as a Bristol Myers Squibb brand ambassador and build trusted relationships with senior leaders and candidates
  • Ensure exceptional candidate and stakeholder experiences while maintaining compliant recruiting and hiring practices
  • Participate in industry forums, elevate BMS’s employer reputation, and bring insights into the organization for continuous improvement
  • Partner with Total Rewards, Global Mobility, Legal, Immigration, and Procurement on executive offer development, negotiation, and delivery
  • Collaborate with non-executive recruiting teams to ensure transparency, talent sharing, and continuity across sourcing and recruiting efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–7 years of recruiting experience
  • At least 3 years of sourcing experience proactively generating candidates focused on senior-level recruiting
  • Pharmaceutical or biotech environment experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to synthesize ad hoc market intelligence data for business strategy
  • Expert knowledge of candidate attraction and relationship building
  • Excellent ability to build and maintain strong candidate pipelines
  • Expert knowledge of full life-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, and networking
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of a highly matrixed organization
  • Ability to work across cross-functional and cross-organizational teams
  • Ability to partner with Centers of Expertise and People Services colleagues
  • Ability to develop meaningful and trusted relationships across all organizational levels
  • Strong understanding of technology and experience using talent acquisition systems, including Applicant Tracking Systems, Candidate Relationship Management systems, social media, and predictive tools
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively and influence others
  • Ability to partner, manage, and influence virtually
  • Ability to work with outsource providers and contractors, if necessary
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Consulting skills, impact and influence abilities, and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills
