About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the technical owner and primary builder of the AWS Landing Zone architecture using Control Tower, AWS Organizations, and Transit Gateway
Author and maintain enterprise-grade Infrastructure-as-Code modules using CloudFormation and GitHub under a strict GitOps model
Architect, design, and validate scalable, resilient, cost-efficient cloud-native enterprise application architectures
Design applications for disaster recovery in an IaaS cloud platform
Build robust, scalable, secure cloud-native solutions using CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, DynamoDB, and S3
Embed security automation throughout CI/CD pipelines using policy-as-code and automated compliance checks
Define and implement standards for AWS Config, IAM roles and policies, and organization policies
Own the cloud platform and developer toolchain as internal products, improving developer experience and time to market
Lead integration of generative AI, intelligent testing, and automated security patch recommendations into the SDLC
Architect and optimize the enterprise CI/CD platform using GitHub Actions or equivalent tooling
Develop automated mechanisms and reference architectures to optimize AWS spend and resource utilization
Establish technical standards, design patterns, and quality gates for cloud adoption and regulatory compliance
Lead technical reviews for major cloud projects
Mentor teams and provide authoritative technical leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS-level technical degree required; Computer Science or Engineering background preferred
10+ years of progressive experience in IT/Software Development
7+ years dedicated to large-scale, enterprise AWS engineering and DevOps delivery
Expert-level proficiency in Python, NodeJS or another major programming language
Expert-level proficiency in CloudFormation or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools
Expert-level knowledge of GitHub for code management, branching strategies, GitHub Actions, or Advanced Security
Experience architecting AWS Landing Zones with Control Tower, AWS Organizations, and Transit Gateway
Expertise in scalable, resilient, cost-efficient cloud-native architectures, serverless design, auto-scaling, and multi-AZ deployments
Experience with CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, DynamoDB, and S3
Experience implementing SecDevOps automation, policy-as-code, and automated compliance checks
Knowledge of AWS Config, IAM roles and policies, and organization policies
Demonstrated expertise designing and debugging complex IAM policies and network architectures
Experience troubleshooting high-volume, distributed cloud systems
Preferred active AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certification
Ability to define and deliver platform capabilities using a product development mindset and measurable outcomes
