About the role
- Manage and support key IP activities in Europe
- Contributing to IP disputes, legal proceedings, EP oppositions & prosecution strategies
- Advise on new PCT filings and European patent applications
- Monitor, review and contribute to European IP related to strategic assets
- Provide IP counselling to commercialization teams on patent and other IP issues
- Support IP diligences in transaction and in-licensing opportunities
- Foster an IP culture and provide IP trainings to BMS business units
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in chemistry or biology
- Advanced degree and/or scientific research experience in life sciences
- 5 years or more of experience as fully qualified European Patent Attorney
- Minimum patent litigation experience
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Fluent in at least one other EPO official language (asset)
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed research and critical thinking skills
- Sound decision-making abilities with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and across business functions
- Highest integrity and excellent judgment
- International travels when required
