About the role

  • Manage and support key IP activities in Europe
  • Contributing to IP disputes, legal proceedings, EP oppositions & prosecution strategies
  • Advise on new PCT filings and European patent applications
  • Monitor, review and contribute to European IP related to strategic assets
  • Provide IP counselling to commercialization teams on patent and other IP issues
  • Support IP diligences in transaction and in-licensing opportunities
  • Foster an IP culture and provide IP trainings to BMS business units

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in chemistry or biology
  • Advanced degree and/or scientific research experience in life sciences
  • 5 years or more of experience as fully qualified European Patent Attorney
  • Minimum patent litigation experience
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Fluent in at least one other EPO official language (asset)
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed research and critical thinking skills
  • Sound decision-making abilities with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and across business functions
  • Highest integrity and excellent judgment
  • International travels when required
