About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer and dispense medication and injections according to accepted nursing practice guidance
- Manage patient medication preselection and drug administration
- Perform initial inductions and provide medical services as needed
- Conduct assessments and monitor vital signs for dose changes
- Educate patients about treatment, health, and safety policies
- Schedule appointments and document no-shows in the system
- Attend required meetings, including on-site staff meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Sign and process physician orders
- Enter notes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and input flags
- Maintain, monitor, and reconcile medication inventory
- Follow necessary regulatory and company compliance requirements, including HIPAA
- Complete documentation using the designated EMR
Requirements
What you’ll need- Licensed Practical Nurse with a State Licensed Practical Nursing License
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in drug/alcohol or psychiatric setting
- Associates Degree in Nursing (NDA), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with State Medication Administration Certification
- Highly empathetic and compassionate
- Competent at working with a diverse population of colleagues and patients
- Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Adaptable and agile within a dynamic work environment
- Comfortable operating multiple systems for communication and documentation, including EMR and MS Office Suite
- High degree of integrity and compliance with work standards and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with HIPAA 42-CFR Part 2 desired
- Prior experience with harm reduction a plus
