About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide medical services in collaboration with a licensed physician
- Implement treatment plans in coordination with the supervising physician
- Inform patients about the medical components of their treatment
- Mentor and conduct professional development activities in medical subjects relevant to patient treatment
- Participate in required trainings and comply with regulatory requirements
- Develop and present training content on medical topics relevant to substance use disorders and general health practices
- Ensure implementation of medical quality health standards for patients and employees
- Provide medical input into program philosophy, treatment services, and patient care
- Respond to emergency care providers seeking consultation for program patients
- Collaborate with physicians, clinics, and hospitals involved in patient treatment
- Attend weekly treatment team meetings, outside seminars, and training
- Keep updated on current drug abuse and treatment information
- Develop professional, helpful, and effective relationships with patients, team members, and constituents
- Ensure the treatment center meets accreditation standards related to medical, health, and safety issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Active state licensure (FNP/APRN/CNP/PMHNP)
- 3 to 5 years’ experience preferred, with at least 1 year of experience in addiction treatment setting preferred
- D.E.A licensure as required by BrightView
- Basic understanding of drug/alcohol abuse and addiction
- Ability to comply with federal, state, local, and accrediting agency requirements
- Ability to perform medical services within the scope of education, training, and expertise
