About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer and dispense medications and injections according to accepted nursing practice guidance
  • Manage patient medication preselection and drug administration
  • Perform initial inductions and provide medical services as needed
  • Conduct assessments and monitor vital signs for dose changes
  • Educate patients about treatment, health, and safety policies
  • Schedule appointments and document no-shows in the system
  • Attend required on-site staff and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Sign and process physician orders
  • Enter notes and flags in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Maintain, monitor, and reconcile medication inventory
  • Complete documentation using the designated EMR
  • Follow HIPAA and other regulatory and company compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with colleagues and patients in a multidisciplinary behavioral healthcare environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required, preferably in a drug/alcohol or psychiatric setting
  • Associates Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or Licensed Practical Nurse with State Medication Administration Certification
  • State Licensed Practical Nursing License required
  • Strong empathy and compassion for supporting patients' recovery journeys
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of colleagues and patients
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Adaptability within a dynamic work environment
  • Technological proficiency with multiple communication and documentation systems, including EMR and MS Office Suite
  • High degree of integrity and compliance with work standards and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and 42-CFR Part 2 desired
  • Prior experience with harm reduction is a plus
