About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and conduct group therapy sessions and patient intake assessments based on clinic patient needs and caseload, aligned with scientific best-practice guidelines
  • Provide occasional individual counseling sessions as appropriate
  • Assist with treatment planning and review progress toward treatment plan goals
  • Coordinate patient care with the onsite multidisciplinary team
  • Timely and comprehensively document treatment data in the electronic patient health record
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and company compliance requirements
  • Attend required onsite staff meetings, supervision, multidisciplinary team meetings, and quarterly in-service sessions
  • Provide occasional training and onboarding support for new Counselor I hires
  • Provide training, onboarding, and mentorship support for new counselors within the site or adjacent clinics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ year experience as Counselor I or other relevant experience
  • Master’s Degree required, consistent with state-level regulation and requirements
  • Active clinical licensure consistent with state-level regulatory requirements, at minimum dependently licensed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly empathetic and compassionate when supporting patients’ recovery journeys
  • Ability to work with diverse colleagues and patients
  • Problem-solving ability and sense of urgency in meeting patient needs
  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
  • Adaptability within a dynamic work environment
  • Technological capability and comfort operating multiple communication and documentation systems
  • Familiarity with MS Office software (Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.) preferred
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and 42-CFR Part 2 desired
  • Prior experience with harm reduction a plus
