About the role
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the pre-access revenue cycle team
- Serve as subject matter expert in behavioral health billing and payer relations
- Oversee insurance verification, prior authorization, and financial counseling functions
- Lead, mentor, and coach revenue cycle staff; support performance reviews and succession planning
- Develop and monitor KPIs and prepare monthly operational reports with action plans
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and payer regulations and partner on compliance
- Collaborate with payers to resolve escalated verification, authorization, and billing issues
- Drive process improvement and automation; partner with IT and operations for system enhancements
- Ensure patient financial experience through accurate eligibility determinations and compassionate counseling
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years in healthcare revenue cycle operations
- At least 1 year in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health billing, insurance verification, prior authorization, and financial counseling
- Demonstrated expertise in data analytics, KPI reporting, and performance improvement
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and billing/revenue cycle systems
- Experience with BI platforms preferred
