About the role

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the pre-access revenue cycle team
  • Serve as subject matter expert in behavioral health billing and payer relations
  • Oversee insurance verification, prior authorization, and financial counseling functions
  • Lead, mentor, and coach revenue cycle staff; support performance reviews and succession planning
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and prepare monthly operational reports with action plans
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and payer regulations and partner on compliance
  • Collaborate with payers to resolve escalated verification, authorization, and billing issues
  • Drive process improvement and automation; partner with IT and operations for system enhancements
  • Ensure patient financial experience through accurate eligibility determinations and compassionate counseling

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years in healthcare revenue cycle operations
  • At least 1 year in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health billing, insurance verification, prior authorization, and financial counseling
  • Demonstrated expertise in data analytics, KPI reporting, and performance improvement
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and billing/revenue cycle systems
  • Experience with BI platforms preferred
