About the role
- Provides financial counseling services through direct and indirect consultation with patients and systems to ensure financial stability of patient accounts.
- Understands the patient’s financial standing and determines a financial course of action based on that standing.
- Assists Self-Pay Patients with obtaining needed information to coordinate a payment arrangement.
- Provides assistance with completing applications for Medicaid, and Medicare as needed.
- Maintains accurate and complete information in systems of record.
- Evaluates assigned accounts receivable, performing appropriate action toward resolution, including generating patient statements and posting financial transactions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in accounting, health care administration, finance, business, or related field preferred.
- Prefer Two (2) years’ previous experience in medical billing.
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel); working knowledge of billing software a plus.
