About the role

  • Drive broadband expansion by turning complex GIS and data into clear insights that secure funding and compliance.
  • Provide critical GIS and data analytics support for Brightspeed’s broadband grant program across a 20‑state footprint.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal funding requirements by developing spatial datasets, reconciling addresses to FCC broadband serviceable location (BSL) standards, and producing accurate reporting.
  • Deliver precise maps, automated workflows, and actionable insights that strengthen Brightspeed’s grant applications, regulatory filings, and broadband expansion strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Data Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent practical work experience.
  • Advanced coursework or certification in GIS, data analytics, or database management preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS Pro v3 or higher), including layer manipulation and import/export of SHP/KML/LPXX formats.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL (intermediate to expert level) and Python scripting for data automation.
  • Experience with Alteryx or similar ETL tools for workflow automation and large dataset management.
  • Strong background in data visualization using Power BI, including dashboard creation and report design.
  • Familiarity with cloud database platforms (BigQuery, MS Fabric, or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality maps for external audiences and efficiently generate large volumes of standard maps for internal use.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
