About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess residential mortgage applications from submission through to settlement, ensuring timely and accurate decisions.
  • Analyse financial documents, valuations, and other supporting materials to identify risks and determine suitability.
  • Apply sound judgment to both conforming and non-conforming applications, balancing customer experience with risk management.
  • Work closely with brokers, aggregators, and internal teams to manage queries, resolve issues, and keep deals on track.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in credit risk assessment, residential underwriting, or mortgage credit analysis within banking, non-bank, or specialist lending environments.
  • In-depth understanding of residential credit policy, financial statement analysis, self-employed income verification, and living expense assessments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of responsible lending guidelines and industry regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and risk-assessment skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain credit decisions clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
