About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Rotate through different sales territories and fill open territories as needed
- Call on accounts and cover daily routes using efficient routing patterns
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations covering displays, products, placements, resets, lists, and promotions
- Maintain product levels by taking inventory and restocking shelves where legal
- Maximize brand visibility using current point-of-sale materials
- Collect and deliver account payments where legally permissible
- Conduct educational staff training seminars on brands
- Deliver products in extenuating circumstances and handle or escalate customer issues
- Preplan sales and merchandising strategies using pricing and product-programming information
- Complete national-account compliance surveys where applicable
- Review buying patterns and maintain historical account purchase information
- Achieve supplier-brand distribution, volume, and activity goals
- Manage account receivables, credits, returns, and aged receivables
- Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings
- Assist the Merchandising Department during particularly heavy merchandising periods
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales
- Basic PC skills using MS Office and various computer programs, including presentation software
- Results-oriented professional with verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, discretion, and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines
- Analytic and reporting skills
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit (preferred qualification)
- Understanding of wine and spirits (preferred qualification)
- Ability to lift and carry 45–65 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, reach overhead, squat, and bend
