About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and coach a team of sales representatives
- Conduct one-on-one sales meetings to communicate objectives, review performance, identify opportunities, and close performance gaps
- Develop and review performance enhancement plans, maintain training files, conduct evaluations, monitor 90-day new-hire evaluations, perform coaching calls, complete MBOs, and follow up on progress
- Develop customized coaching plans to address skill deficiencies and track improvement
- Pre-plan each sales period with representatives and help define target accounts when applicable
- Participate in associate interviewing and selection, including sourcing candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, and managing onboarding
- Maintain relationships with key accounts and identify account opportunities
- Perform customer business reviews and develop opening orders with new accounts
- Sell in resets of stores, manage open territories, and resolve customer complaints
- Manage supplier surveys, including route planning, account pre-surveys, supplier surveys, recaps, and representative scheduling
- Coordinate supplier ride-withs with Business Managers
- Resolve customer issues through administrative processes and company policies, escalating to management as appropriate
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in sales
- Proficient PC skills using MS Office and various computer programs, including presentation software
- Results-oriented professional with verbal and written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion
- Customer service skills
- Ability to multitask, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines
- Analytical and reporting skills
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Preferred: Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit
- Preferred: Understanding of Wine and Spirits
