About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for managing a designated territory and customer base, ensuring existing customer satisfaction, and achieving new account acquisition and sales goals
- Establish and manage sales objectives, goals, and forecasts for the designated territory
- Conduct regular field visits throughout the assigned region to engage with customers, understand their needs, and drive sales
- Collaborate with customer technical teams to specify and apply industrial equipment, while offering ongoing product education and technical support
- Maintain and enhance relationships with existing customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty while also identifying new business opportunities
- Act as a point of contact for resolving customer disputes, working closely with office staff and factory personnel to address and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Regularly report on sales activity, market trends, customer feedback, and progress toward meeting or exceeding sales goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of 2 – 5 years of successful experience in an engineering or technical role within an industrial setting, preferably in valves, flow control products, or related industries
- Alternatively, equivalent sales experience is acceptable
- A BS degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred, however, a high school diploma combined with relevant experience will also be considered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to understand and explain the application of industrial equipment in customer processes
- Willingness to travel extensively within the designated territory
- Valid driver’s license required; personal vehicle available for sales and service calls
