About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Anticipate threats and minimize the impact of risks on business results;
  • Promote actions to foster a risk-aware culture and strengthen risk management across the company;
  • Analyze risk appetite indicators, propose changes or new indicators according to the risk profile, and interact with first-line areas;
  • Implement processes and methodologies to continuously improve risk management in pursuit of strategic objectives;
  • Evaluate financial risk and underwriting/pricing models to monitor risk scores and support the development of mitigating action plans;
  • Serve in an advisory capacity by proposing action plans and methodological or structural changes for first-line areas;
  • Maintain proprietary risk capital models and perform stress testing under business and technical/macroeconomic assumptions for ORSA and SUSEP TER purposes;
  • Update and maintain statistical models and risk forecasting studies;
  • Maintain and execute activities related to the integration of risk with internal controls, compliance, corporate strategy and corporate governance;
  • Prepare dashboards, technical reports, and documentation for corporate risk management.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  • Experience and knowledge of: risk management frameworks, internal controls and compliance (COSO ERM, COSO ICIF, ISO 31000, ISO 27000, and related standards);
  • Concepts and techniques for testing and assessing internal controls and compliance;
  • Policies and standards for risk management, internal controls and compliance;
  • Corporate governance, business processes and management;
  • Preparation of dashboards and reports for senior management, and communication and training for the first line, recommending actions;
  • IFRS 17 (desired);
  • Structuring and aligning models and metrics to measure impact and probability, as well as assessing risk management maturity;
  • Technical skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, SAS, R;
  • Regulations and laws related to complementary pension plans and the insurance market;
  • Strategic processes and planning, techniques and frameworks (ISO 9001, agile methods, SWOT);
  • Balance sheet and cash flow analysis;
  • Experience analyzing financial risks;
  • Statistical modeling / autoregressive models / time series, and GLMs applied to the business;
  • Knowledge of ALM models, market risk, liquidity, and liability cash flows;
  • Solid foundation in financial mathematics;
  • Prior experience in the insurance and pension sector;
  • Advanced English and Spanish (desirable).
