About the role
- Create and review A1 German language content for flashcards and study materials
- Advise on best practices for representing German in digital flashcard format (script vs. romanization, diacritics, learner scaffolding)
- Provide feedback on learner challenges unique to German
- Adapt content template to create a full German A1 curriculum
- Write accurate, contextually appropriate translations for vocabulary and phrases
- Craft concise, beginner-friendly flashcard footnotes explaining grammar, pronunciation, or cultural nuances
- Review and edit content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and pedagogical soundness
- Collaborate with team using online tools and follow provided style guide
Requirements
- Fluent in both English and German
- Bonus: proficiency in a third language
- Experience teaching German or developing language learning content
- Ability to simplify complex grammar and cultural points for A1 learners
- Keen eye for detail and ability to ensure pedagogical soundness
- Comfortable with online collaboration tools (Google Docs, Trello)
- Commitment to consistency and reliability across project timeline
- Availability to work a total of 10–40 hours over 6–8 weeks
