About the role
- Create and review Portuguese A1 flashcards and beginner study materials for web and mobile
- Advise on best practices for representing Portuguese in a digital flashcard format (script vs. romanization, diacritics, scaffolding)
- Provide feedback on learner challenges unique to Portuguese (pronunciation, script direction, etc.)
- Adapt provided content template and style guide to build a full Portuguese A1 curriculum
- Write accurate, contextually appropriate translations for vocabulary and phrases
- Craft concise beginner-friendly flashcard footnotes explaining grammar, pronunciation, or cultural nuances
- Review and edit content for clarity, accuracy, and pedagogical soundness
- Collaborate with the team and apply best practices from language learning tools and mobile flashcards
Requirements
- Fluent in both English and Portuguese
- Bonus: proficiency in a third language
- Experience teaching Portuguese or developing language learning content
- Ability to simplify complex grammar and cultural points for A1 learners
- Comfortable with online collaboration tools (e.g., Google Docs, Trello)
- Availability for 10–40 hours total over a 6–8 week period and consistent reliability
