About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You develop and operate test environments for flight and aerospace systems – from test specifications through automated test execution to integration into HIL and SIL setups.
  • You work closely with development, systems engineering, software, hardware, aerodynamics and, where applicable, project management.
  • Depending on your experience, you may also take on technical responsibility or project management for the test area.
  • Set up, further develop and maintain test environments for unmanned aerial systems (UAS/UAV) and aviation-specific systems.
  • Create test specifications, test cases, test procedures and test reports.
  • Develop and automate tests for Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.
  • Integrate test automation into existing development, simulation and CI/CD processes.
  • Coordinate test objectives, test coverage and acceptance criteria with development teams, systems engineering and customers.
  • Execute, analyze and evaluate system, integration and regression tests.
  • Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and assessment of system behavior.
  • Contribute to the integration, commissioning and validation of hardware-related test systems.
  • Document test results in a traceable, auditable format.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, mechatronics or a comparable technical field
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in test engineering, ideally in the aerospace, defence, UAV, avionics or embedded domain
  • Experience with HIL, SIL, test automation or simulation-supported test environments
  • Understanding of complex technical systems, particularly the interaction of software, electronics, sensors, actuators and hardware
  • Experience creating test cases, test procedures and technical documentation
  • Confident use of development and test tools, e.g., Git, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD, Python, MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools
  • Very good German and English skills for technical coordination, documentation and auditable evidence
