About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Managing a varied caseload of housing litigation matters on behalf of Registered Providers, with appropriate supervision
  • Advising on and progressing cases involving: Anti-social behaviour, Possession proceedings and housing management litigation, Injunctions and committal proceedings, Housing disrepair and property condition claims, Hoarding and access matters
  • Supporting senior colleagues on more complex and high-value cases
  • Attending court hearings and undertaking advocacy where appropriate
  • Drafting legal documents including pleadings, witness statements and applications
  • Providing clear, practical and commercial advice to clients
  • Building strong client relationships and contributing to excellent client service delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified Solicitor with up to 3 years’ PQE
  • Experience of, or a strong interest in, housing litigation or social housing law
  • Exposure to a varied caseload (contentious work preferred)
  • Some advocacy experience or a willingness to develop this skill
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive and ambitious approach, with a genuine enthusiasm to build a career in housing law
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to build relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to learn and contribute to a supportive team environment
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
