About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Advise clients on contentious and non-contentious employment and recruitment-sector legal issues
Support clients on day-to-day employment matters (disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, restructuring) and strategic advisory work
Draft and negotiate employment contracts, settlement agreements and HR policies
Advise on employment status, IR35 and issues arising from the engagement of self-employed consultants/contractors
Manage Employment Tribunal litigation and help resolve disputes through ACAS, mediation and negotiation
Advise and manage sector regulatory investigations on behalf of clients
Work collaboratively with colleagues across litigation, corporate and commercial to deliver integrated client projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Ideally Senior Associate level, with flexibility to consider strong candidates slightly below that level
A strong grounding in general employment law and the ability to operate commercially with clients
Any prior exposure to the recruitment/workforce solutions space (e.g., IR35, contractor status, consultancy agreements, atypical worker issues) is highly advantageous
Confident communicator, collaborative team-player, inquisitive and flexible in approach
