About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage fiduciary accounting engagements for trusts, estates, conservatorships, and guardianships
  • Review fiduciary accountings, trustee reports, and supporting schedules
  • Interpret trust documents and apply fiduciary accounting principles
  • Work directly with trustees, beneficiaries, attorneys, family offices, and other advisors
  • Identify and resolve complex accounting and administration issues
  • Ensure work products meet firm quality standards and applicable court requirements
  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members located in the U.S. and India
  • Review work and provide meaningful feedback and guidance
  • Manage engagement budgets, staffing, workflow, and deadlines
  • Assist in developing processes, training materials, and best practices
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture in a remote environment
  • Build relationships with attorneys, trustees, and referral sources
  • Participate in networking and business development activities
  • Identify opportunities to expand services for existing clients
  • Contribute to the continued growth and evolution of BPM's Fiduciary Accounting Services practice
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and referral sources
  • Independently manage complex fiduciary accounting engagements
  • Lead and develop team members across multiple locations
  • Help improve operational efficiency and service quality
  • Contribute to the growth and long-term success of BPM's Fiduciary Accounting Services practice

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of fiduciary accounting, trust administration, estate administration, or related experience
  • Experience preparing and reviewing fiduciary accountings
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Experience with California fiduciary accountings and California Probate Code requirements preferred
  • Public accounting or professional services experience preferred
  • Experience working with offshore or distributed teams preferred
  • Existing relationships within the trust and estate community preferred
