Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of bookkeepers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Oversee the day-to-day bookkeeping operations for a diverse client base, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks such as accounts payable, customer invoicing, bank reconciliations, and compliance filings (1099s, payroll, sales tax).
Manage task lists, deadlines, and workflow for the bookkeeping team, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to firm and client timelines.
Onboard new clients, including assessing their bookkeeping needs, setting up systems and processes, and educating clients on best practices.
Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of client general ledger records prior to tax return preparation.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, explaining financial concepts in clear, client-friendly language and providing proactive solutions to bookkeeping challenges.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in client records, recommending process improvements and workflow enhancements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax compliance requirements and accounting standards.

Requirements
7+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks and Intacct (Sage Intacct); experience with NetSuite, MRI, and other accounting systems is a plus.
Strong understanding of both accrual and cash basis accounting.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and client relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-accountants.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with cloud-based accounting platforms and integrations.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to data integrity.
Experience onboarding clients and implementing new bookkeeping processes.
