About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plan, organise and deliver differentiated technical services to customers and target prospects in support of sector strategies
Coordinate technical services team activities under the Regional/Area Technical Services Manager
Support technical and sales teams on SmartGains methodology and measurement
Advise high-value Castrol customers on complex lubricant questions and application needs
Provide SmartGains insights and opportunities from used oil analysis results
Prepare and maintain recommended lubricant schedules for customer assets using GST tools
Recommend products for Shipping and Oil & Gas applications using Marine and Energy Technical Databases
Respond to customer and sales technical queries and ensure customer satisfaction
Support technical claims and complaints and conduct basic technical troubleshooting
Record Technical Services activity using the appropriate measurement tool
Administer used oil analysis programs and create SmartGains recommendations
Build technical relationships with customers, regional OEMs, BP stakeholders and the Lubricants organization
Demonstrate the differentiated value of GME products and services through the SmartGains framework
Generate and communicate sales leads through technical relationships, value playback and trade-up opportunities
Support sales teams in understanding technical needs and differentiation opportunities
Coordinate and conduct visits to ships, offshore assets and yards for inspections, lubrication surveys and change-over visits
Maintain and update central technical databases with regional insights and data

Requirements

What you’ll need

Diploma/Tertiary Technical Qualification in Engineering, machinery maintenance, plant & asset reliability or an adjacent field with relevant experience
Minimum 3 years of offshore industry experience, or 3 years of sailing experience as a Class 2 Engineer and above, or 3 years of Marine, Oil & Gas, or Power Generation engineering experience
Experience must include equipment maintenance and reliability
Theoretical and practical experience with main rotating machinery operated by offshore companies
Condition-based maintenance experience
Ability to develop, maintain and build customer, OEM and industry-body relationships
Ability to leverage resources and networks to achieve goals and objectives
Understanding of shipping, oil & gas markets, global dynamics, trends and regulatory environments desirable
Proven ability to deal with and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders
Up to 25% travel expected
Willingness to conduct visits to ships, offshore assets and yards under HSSE guidelines and after appropriate training
