About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support category strategy delivery
  • Contribute to the development, refresh and implementation of global MRO category strategies
  • Support mobilisation of category initiatives across regions and assets
  • Track category performance, including value delivery, compliance, and service levels
  • Drive data-led insights and performance
  • Analyse spend, supplier and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Support cost modelling, benchmarking and value tracking
  • Provide reporting and insights to support category decision-making
  • Enable digital transformation
  • Support deployment and adoption of digital solutions (e.g. Axiom, Sirion, Fairmarkit, SAP)
  • Find opportunities to improve buying channels, automation and data quality
  • Work with delivery teams to improve end-to-end procurement efficiency
  • Support supplier and contract management
  • Contribute to the development and management of global and regional agreements
  • Support supplier performance management and escalation of systemic issues
  • Provide category input into sourcing and contracting activities
  • Support value delivery and risk management
  • Identify and supervise value across cost, efficiency and sustainability
  • Support mitigation of supply chain risks and ensure compliance with bp policies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across demand planning and ordering processes
  • Collaborate across interested parties: Partner with regional procurement teams, business partners and suppliers
  • Provide category mentorship to support consistent and compliant execution
  • Support alignment between strategy and execution teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management, procurement, business administration, economics, engineering, finance, or a related field
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, category management or materials management
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Understanding of MRO categories (spares, consumables, industrial supplies)
  • Experience with procurement and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Ariba, or similar)
  • Knowledge of sourcing, contracting and supplier management processes
  • Good understanding of P2P processes
  • Strong partner engagement and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to work across regions and cross-functional teams
  • Professional procurement qualifications, such as CIPS, CPSM, ISM, or an equivalent qualification, are an advantage
