About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide in-home support and teach practical skills to strengthen families
- Help families build stronger relationships, develop parenting skills, and overcome challenges
- Connect families with schools, healthcare, social services, and other community resources
- Provide crisis intervention and guidance
- Build relationships with families and collaborate with teachers, doctors, social workers, and other professionals
- Develop service plans, monitor progress, and maintain accurate documentation
- Facilitate family decision-making meetings
- Pursue or support certification as a Parenting Instructor
- Serve as a role model reflecting Boys Town’s mission and values
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field
- 1 year of experience working with children and families
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call hours
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Ability to perform duties requiring sufficient strength, agility, and endurance during stressful physical, mental, and emotional situations
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including outside weather conditions and homes with substandard living conditions and domestic pets
