Grant Coordinator
Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast OhioGrant Coordinator at Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio responsible for writing and submitting grant proposals. Collaborating with internal departments to develop compelling narratives and support funding goals.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Write and prepare letters of intent, cover letters, grant applications, and supporting materials for existing and prospective funders
- Customize proposals and supporting materials to align with funders stated priorities, language, application format, and evaluation criteria
- Research grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities and funding needs
- Develop compelling, accurate, and persuasive narratives tailored to funder guidelines and priorities
- Maintain a grant submission calendar to ensure timely completion of applications and reports including coordinating inputs from program, finance, data impact and leadership staff
- Maintain and update a library of standard organizational language, program descriptions, outcomes data, boilerplate materials, attachments, and grant templates
- Collaborate with program leadership, accounting staff, and the grants reporting/compliance staff to gather outcomes data, budgets, and supporting documentation
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure proposals accurately reflect program impact and organizational priorities
- Assist with collecting stories, statistics, and program information to strengthen proposals
- Support post-award grant processes by coordinating with the grants reporting team as relevant
- Support grant compliance by ensuring proposal commitments, deadlines, and funder requirements are clearly documented and communicated to the appropriate internal staff
- Maintain organized records of submitted applications, grant awards, and funder communications in Little Green Light
- Conduct prospect research on foundations, corporations, and public funding opportunities
- Support cultivation and stewardship efforts related to institutional funders when appropriate
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree in English, communications, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of grant writing or professional writing experience.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills required
- Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to translate program information, organizational strategy, and impact data into clear, compelling funder-facing narratives
- Experience preparing persuasive proposals and funding requests
- Familiarity with nonprofit funding environments and grant management practices
