About the role
- Lead, mentor, and coach the QA team, conducting one-on-ones and career development planning.
- Manage the allocation of QA engineers across squads, implementing a rotation strategy.
- Design and implement a robust automation roadmap, prioritizing regression tests to maximize platform stability.
- Build and maintain automated flows that simulate real user behavior in web and desktop environments (using Python or Java).
- Continuously increase automated test coverage to proactively identify edge cases and prevent production incidents.
- Optimize the "development to delivery" window by refining validation processes without compromising quality standards.
- Act as the focal point for incident management, triaging bugs with developers and ensuring rapid resolution and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure QA processes are mature, robust, and aligned with agile delivery cycles.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) via Jira, such as response times, validation cycles, and defect leakage.
- Evangelize QA best practices within the engineering team to ensure quality is a shared responsibility.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on area health, automation progress, and product stability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Hands-on experience in software test automation (5+ years)
- Proven experience leading and scaling QA teams
- Experience with at least one programming/scripting language (Python or Java)
- Experience testing web and desktop applications
- Communicates clearly and with collaborative humility
- Acts boldly and insists on high standards to deliver with speed and confidence.
- Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
- Familiarity with test automation tools such as Postman, Selenium, Playwright, Behave
- Experience developing automated pipelines (preferably with GitHub Actions)
- Experience with Atlassian Jira
- Experience working with MS Office/Excel, Google Suite, Notion
- Portuguese - Fluent
- English - Advanced
- Availability to travel as needed to support events and meet the team.
