About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Comply with cancer registry operations as directed by the Senior Cancer Registrar
- Perform registry operations in compliance with facility needs, State requirements, and Commission on Cancer requirements
- Manage cancer registry work independently and efficiently
- Prioritize workload and manage time effectively
- Adhere to institutional confidentiality guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience
- Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR®) through the National Cancer Registrars Association’s Council
- Candidates with an Associate’s degree or coding program certificate require 3 years minimum relevant healthcare experience
- Candidates with a high school diploma require at least 5 years relevant healthcare experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology and tumor registry coding principles, including ICD-O, FORDS, and SEER
- Extensive knowledge and advanced education of American College of Surgeons and Commission on Cancer accreditation standards
- Previous registry management experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with Cancer Registry System, METRIQ or equivalent
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well independently and efficiently
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize workload
- Understanding of and adherence to institutional confidentiality guidelines
- Must complete a background check before employment
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu and receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
