About the role
- Coordinating all functions and activities related to ambulatory patient access
- Front end customer service
- Patient registration
- Insurance/coverage verification
- Appointment scheduling
- Charge entry
- Handling forms, phones, filing, making appointments, photocopying, faxing, mailings, letters, reports, etc.
Requirements
- Associates degree (or equivalent) or HS/GED plus at least two years relevant experience
- Experience working in a clinical setting preferred
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information
- Ability to effectively handle challenging situations and to balance multiple priorities
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel & Outlook) and web/internet
- Experience with standard hospital registration & billing systems or ability to learn such systems
