About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as Data Steward for Business and Retail Banking data assets
  • Provide governance, oversight and assurance across business-owned models and User Developed Applications
  • Ensure data assets, models and UDAs are governed, documented, monitored and maintained in line with risk frameworks, data standards and regulatory obligations
  • Partner with Product Owners, Retail Banking leaders, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Data Management and governance forums
  • Improve data quality and maintain metadata and data dictionaries
  • Support Critical Data Element management
  • Lead and support data quality investigations and issue remediation
  • Prepare governance reporting and support control reviews and annual attestations
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • Uplift data governance maturity, strengthen risk culture and support data-driven decision making

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience as a data governance, data quality or risk professional
  • Experience managing, analysing or governing customer, product or financial services data
  • Exposure to data stewardship, data quality management, risk, compliance, governance or remediation initiatives
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data lineage, data dictionaries and master data concepts
  • Understanding of operational risk and controls frameworks
  • Experience in regulated financial services environments is highly regarded
  • Experience with Databricks, Power BI, Python, modern data platforms, Microsoft Suite, Power Platforms or Dynamics would be valued
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound judgement
  • Ability to translate technical data challenges into practical business solutions
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes without direct authority
  • Ability to prepare governance papers and reporting
  • Confidence presenting insights, risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance forums
  • Background screening, including immigration and academic qualification verification, is a condition of employment
