About the role

  • Cultivate a data-first culture and build foundational data infrastructure as an early data hire.
  • End-to-end data engineering and system ownership across pipeline, modeling, infrastructure, analytics, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Design, build, and enhance data systems; move data between production systems and data architecture.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and partner with software engineers to design data systems.
  • Optimize performance, maintain system stability, and implement CI checks.
  • Build custom connectors and manage schema changes.
  • Deliver 'golden' data sets for business or AI use cases and launch monitoring enhancements.
  • Code review, mentorship, documentation, and continuous improvement of data practices.
  • Work with Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, PostgreSQL, BI tools, and events-driven analytics tools.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience delivering data-driven systems and pipeline applications.
  • Strong experience working with Python.
  • Strong experience with relational/non-relational database design, governance, and security.
  • Database management experience is a plus.
  • Experience writing custom data pipelines.
  • Experience with dbt.
  • Experience with CI/CD for data architectures.
  • Startup experience preferred.
  • Experience with AI or machine learning is a plus.
