About the role
- Administer and maintain Linux/Ubuntu web and application servers to ensure system stability and performance
- Configure, optimize, and monitor PostgreSQL databases and Redis caching systems for maximum efficiency
- Manage web server environments using Nginx and Gunicorn, ensuring secure and reliable operations
- Deploy application updates and infrastructure changes using containerization technologies such as Docker
- Automate server and application management tasks using Ansible or similar configuration management tools
- Monitor server and database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures proactively
- Ensure security compliance and apply updates, patches, and configurations to maintain a secure environment
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for server configurations, deployment procedures, and operational processes
Requirements
- Skilled Web & Database Administrator to manage and maintain our web servers, application servers, and database systems
- Required Technologies: Linux/Ubuntu, Nginx, Gunicorn, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Ansible
- Candidates must live close enough to attend onsite meetings in New York City a few times each month
