About the role
- Own brand strategy and brand equity, innovation, and communications for the $500M Bolthouse beverage and dressing brand
- Lead turnaround strategy to reinvent smoothies and evolve product lines
- Architect long-term business strategy and define brand foundations (vision, purpose, voice)
- Build and execute multi-year innovation/renovation pipeline with Disruptive Innovation and R&D teams
- Lead Bolthouse marketing team and develop high-performing team members
- Manage multi-million dollar A&C budget across shopper, media, research, packaging, and more
- Oversee marketing planning, budgeting, reporting, and execution to drive top- and bottom-line goals
- Drive business decisions with data-backed recommendations and influence P&L levers to grow revenue and EBITDA
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Sales, R&D, and Finance
- Manage integrated agency relationships (media, creative, shopper) from briefing through production
- Report to the Chief Marketing Officer
- Position is remote with up to 50% travel to Chicago hub, Bakersfield R&D facility, key customer visits, and other locations as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- MBA/Masters preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of brand management experience
- Experience leading through the full innovation cycle from ideation to commercialization
- Experience leading multi-million dollar communication plans from agency briefing to production and from shopper to social
- Experience leading media, creative, and shopper agencies or in-house teams and managing the associated budget
- 5+ years of direct P&L ownership experience with history driving both top and bottom line growth
- Deep understanding of finding insights and driving action based on syndicated (sales and panel) and custom (qual and quant) consumer data
- Experience leading 3+ person teams with track record of team development and retention
- Experience leading and developing high-performing Marketing teams
- Proven track record of strong cross functional collaboration and leading effective integrated agency teams
- Comfortable making quick decisions in ambiguity
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% for hub, R&D, customer, and other meetings
- Preferred: Experience at mid-size or start-up company (<$1B topline)
- Preferred: Prior success turning around a mature brand
- Preferred: Experience leading a brand or portfolio that competes in more than one category
- Preferred: Experience partnering with Sales to present in high-stakes customer meetings
