About the role

  • Oversee bookkeeping and accounting work associated with company books
  • Perform general bookkeeping duties: update posts in accounting software, record cash receipts, distribute customer invoices
  • Reconcile accounts regularly and perform bank reconciliations
  • Ensure receivables are collected and payables are paid promptly
  • Function as part of the company’s finance team and maintain an organized accounting system
  • Provide support to management during audits or other busy times
  • Facilitate help desk queries to support operations
  • Arrange payments to vendors and employees and send proof of payment to vendors
  • Prepare, maintain, and organize check and petty cash vouchers
  • Interact with vendors to resolve outstanding issues
  • Record and track payments in databases and accounting software
  • Reconcile A/P to the G/L and perform weekly and monthly accounts payable reports
  • Maintain bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed
  • Analyze financial data and ensure compliance
  • Continuously evaluate policies and recommend process improvements
  • Provide support for internal and external audits and investigate irregularities
  • Assist in general financial management and analysis
  • File and pay monthly tax returns and audit liquidation reports
  • Organize and safekeep all financial documents
  • Execute month-end and year-end closings, prepare cash flow reports and monthly financial and management reports
  • Prepare general ledger entries and handle petty cash

  • At a minimum, an associate's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Open for fresh graduates
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
  • Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
  • Good project management and organizational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and proficiency with financial management software such as Xero or Quickbooks
  • Amenable to work on UK business hours
