About the role
- Lead the development of system functions, requirements, architectures, and allocations to hardware, software, and personnel components in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) context
- Lead the coordination efforts between a range of engineering disciplines to define system functions and requirements related to system development and lifecycle engineering
- Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
- Evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
- Mentor early-career engineers and act as a technical lead engineer
- Resolve cross-functional technical issues
- Interface with safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialty engineering groups to ensure a well-balanced system design early in the lifecycle
- Manage the development of systems engineering material such as System Concept of Operations, System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements, Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
- Plan, design, and develop lifecycle balanced system solutions for a highly complex system; allocate performance budgets and analyze system performance
- Utilize understanding of engineering processes to collaborate with Program Management and Engineering functions to support Customer needs
- Develop the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
- Lead analyses and trade study activities to optimize total system definition and architecture
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 14+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience
- 10+ years of demonstrated collaboration & written and verbal communication skills
