About the role
- Install, service, maintain, upgrade, and modify electrical and electronic systems
- Utilize technical knowledge, existing procedures or develop new procedures along with internal/external resources to diagnose and correct equipment and/or system malfunctions
- Modify, test, calibrate, and document system configurations to meet compliance requirements
- Utilize various types of computing systems or electronic/electrical test equipment to test accuracy of electronic/electrical components/systems to determine accuracy of equipment
- Work with management, engineering, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and other organizations
- Service Technicians respond to calls from Central Monitoring Station
- Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems
- Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic security alarm systems, card access systems, and other related building system products at customer sites
- Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, and modification notices
- Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufacturers equipment such as DMP, LENEL, INOVONICS, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, schematics, and operational product manuals
- Perform physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
- Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 30 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in support of electrical power systems (electrical system design, electrical system verification, troubleshooting and/or support of anomaly resolution)
- Experience working with safety and quality processes and procedures
- Able to lift/carry up to 35 pounds; push/pull using up to 45 pounds of force; and reach overhead up to six hours per day
- Current valid driver’s license
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if required
- Willing and able to travel domestically 10% of the time
- 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Active Secret Clearance
