About the role

  • Act as an authorised agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements.
  • Lead the negotiation of Master Research Agreements, Collaboration Agreements, Intellectual Property Agreements, Purchase Agreements, and other contract types as required.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with a globally dispersed group of customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners.
  • Analyse proposals and estimates to determine fairness, reasonableness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing to maximise value.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including supplier performance, contract terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Lead process improvement teams and identify improvement opportunities for potential integration into supplier contract strategies.
  • Develop and execute company strategic business goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and advice on R&D collaboration strategy, agreements and proposal analyses.
  • Embrace a lean mindset and identify efficiencies that can be implemented.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Procurement
  • 5+ years of experience with managing/interfacing with suppliers
  • 5+ years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
  • 10 + years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
  • 5 + years of work experience in a research and development focused role (preferred)
  • Experience with government contracts, grants, university agreements, or related R&D projects/work (preferred)
  • Experience working within a globally dispersed team (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in working independently, acting autonomously when making decisions (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred).
