About the role
- Creates basic & advanced isometric, orthographic, axonometric, and perspective illustrations, wiring diagrams, and schematics for technical data products.
- Gathers, synthesizes, and accurately interprets engineering data to support creation of technical data products.
- Integrates text and illustrations.
- Interfaces with customers for basic clarification of input.
- Researches existing illustrations/graphics to create or revise technical illustration products.
- Produces deliverables with first time quality.
- Performs quality reviews for junior illustrators on the team.
- Adds metadata information to files to enable efficient retrieval of stored illustrations.
- Applies regulatory or organizational standards and specifications to produce illustrations for technical publications.
- Participates on internal departmental teams to develop or revise existing standards, processes and procedures.
- Ensures company products continue to meet applicable internal and/or industry standards.
- Participates in the investigation of emerging technologies and contributes to the development of new illustration tools, techniques and processes.
- Participates in the assembly of technical data products for final delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Technical Illustrating / Drafting
- Minimum of 5 years' experience using CAD Software
- Associates Degree Required (Drafting or equivalent preferred)
- Experience with military or Department of Defense customers (preferred)
- Experience with aerospace drafting or equivalent work scope (preferred)
- Bachelors Degree Required (Drafting or equivalent preferred)
