About the role

  • Define and lead the data governance strategy for customer and market insight (3rd Party) data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and business value.
  • Govern the Third Party data by setting policies and aligning stakeholders across global functions to ensure consistent and compliant data management.
  • Drive external data sourcing, vendor selection, and contract management (e.g., IQVIA, Veeva), ensuring compliance, centralization, and effective collaboration with sourcing as well as operational teams for implementation.
  • Drive Third Party Data Management strategy across platforms, harmonizing data and privacy management.
  • Define, align, roll out and manage the third party agreements for the external vendors.
  • Champion data quality by defining and monitoring Data Quality standards and leading improvement initiatives, assuring robust controls for data integrity, completeness and compliance are implemented.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, GxP) for customer and external data, and optimize vendor-related processes, working closely with sourcing, legal, compliance, and operational data teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent.
  • Several years of experience in third party data acquisition, contracting and vendor management in life sciences or other regulated industries.
  • Strong business acumen and track record of hands-on business analytics.
  • Advanced knowledge of data quality frameworks, FAIR principles, and data lifecycle management within the Boehringer Ingelheim Dataland framework.
  • Strong regulatory and compliance knowledge (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, GxP).
  • Advanced knowledge in Information Security and Data Protection.
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional, international teams; excellent relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in project management, business transformation, and change management.
